They were replaced by the more modern step vans. The oldest one, which was part of our fleet, was a 1963 Ford step van/ice cream truck. This truck was on the road, summer after summer, for more than 35 years in the Woodlawn section of Pawtucket.

There was also a 1972 International step van/ice cream truck that was working in Cumberland R.I. for over 35 years. The rest of the fleet include Fords and Chevrolets models years mid to late ‘70’s

Today, Palagis Ice Cream Company has 18 trucks roaming the streets of cities and towns of northern R.I. peddling (selling) ice cream at many of the same places that we have been going to, for almost a century. You may see us on the street, at a ball game, at the summer parade, at the festival, maybe even at your place of work. Basically we are doing the same thing that Peter Palagi was doing 100 years ago but only doing more of it.

In order to serve our customers better, 8 years ago we begin the process of upgrading our fleet of trucks,  some we have painted mint green, cream vanilla , and others pastels, and some others the traditional white.

Aside from going from street to street peddling ice cream, we often receive calls for special events such as birthday parties, sporting events, school field days, employee appreciation, customer appreciation, company picnics, graduations etc.

Watch for a Palagis Ice Cream truck in you neighborhood from April to late September.
